What Must I Do To Be Saved?

Never has the above question been so important to one who realizes is destiny as a sinner. Never has the answer been so important as when it comes from the word of God and gives the hope of eternal life. The answer involves something each one must do to be saved . . .

If you are an alien sinner . . . one who has never known covenant relationship with God . . . one who has never obtained the forgiveness of sins from God, you MUST:

  1. Hear the gospel. -- (Mark 16:15; Romans 1:16; Romans 10:17).

  2. Believe the gospel. -- (Mark 16:16; Acts 16:30-31; Hebrews 1:16).

  3. Repent of all sins. -- (Luke 13:3; Acts 2:38; Acts 3:19; Acts 17:30).

  4. Confess Christ as the Son of God. -- (Matthew 10:32; Acts 8:37; Romans 10:9-10).

  5. Be Baptized for the remission of sins. -- (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16"15-16; Acts 2:28; Acts 22:16; I Peter 3:21; Romans 6:3-4; Galatians 3:26-27).

  6. Remain faithful. -- (I Corinthians 9:24-27; Colossians 1:21-23; Revelation 2:10).

If you are a backslider . . . one who has been a Christian but who has turned again to the practice of sin . . . one who has openly violated and trangressed God's will, you MUST:

  1. Repent of those sins. -- (Acts 8:22; Revelation 2:5; 2 Peter 3:9).

  2. Confess the sins. -- (I John 1:9-10; I John 2:2; James 5:16).

  3. Pray for forgiveness. -- (James 5:16; Matthew 6:12; Acts 8:22).

  4. Remain faithful. -- (I Corinthians 9:24-27; Colossians 1:21-23; Revelation 2:10).
